President of Social Media Club Bahrain Ali Sabkar reaffirmed the club’s commitment in participating at the Bahrain International eGovernment Forum on a yearly basis, with a core focus on keeping abreast with the latest developments in social media on an international scale. He also indicated that the workshop will not focus on familiarizing participants with the global expertise in social media only but in-depth insights will also be provided on Bahrain’s pioneering experience.

Sabkar said that the club has looked forward to enhancing partnerships with the eGovernment Authority (eGA) and underscored the importance of incorporating this high-quality workshop as part of this year’s forum events. He also noted that social media is considered as one of the key tools to gain access to the recipients of the eGovernment services and maximize the potential integration between social media and eGovernment channels so as to ensure that effective performance can be enhanced and that a larger segment of service beneficiaries can be expanded.

Sabkar clarified that the workshop falls within the ambitious program launched last January with an objective of training one thousand Bahrainis on social media this year. The program includes a wide array of programs, conferences, lectures and workshops.

Furthermore, Sabkar has echoed the club’s concern about hosting internationally renowned experts in social media in pursuit of the club’s ultimate objective of Bahrain becoming a hub for social media industry in the Middle East.

“Participants at the workshop will have the opportunity to gain a first-hand understanding of the best strategies and the global social media practices, as well as acquire basic knowledge about such means, tactics, analytics and tools utilized that maximal use be made of and benefits drawn from them to serve governments, organizations, companies, businesses and individuals,” emphasized Ali.
